Born on May 20, 1999, in Webster, Texas, Haze was the cherished son of Heather and Chance Gardner. He spent his childhood in Santa Fe, where he graduated from Santa Fe High School before settling in the area to begin his career. Those who knew him say Haze embodied the values of hard work, loyalty, and faith — traits that guided him through every aspect of his life.

Haze was known first and foremost for his deep devotion to his family. He was described as a respectful and honest son and a protective, generous, and loving brother. His bond with his parents and his brother, Brennan, was unwavering. Each day, Haze called his parents on his way to and from work, never ending a conversation without saying, “I love you.” His father was his role model, his mother his rock, and his brother his best friend.

From a young age, Haze developed a love for the rodeo. He grew up as a team roper, spending countless weekends on the road with his family at rodeo events — sharing laughs, creating memories, and building lifelong friendships. His cowboy hat was rarely off his head, except when he traded it for camo gear to go hunting or fishing. Whether he was casting a line or drawing a bow, Haze was a true outdoorsman — happiest in the woods or on the water, embracing every adventure with a full heart.

Friends and family describe Haze as the brightest light in any room. His trademark smile was contagious, radiating joy and positivity wherever he went. Known for his signature Turtle Box speakers, he never went anywhere without his music — whether cruising in his truck or out on the water. His competitive streak even extended to his sound system; he once installed a high-end setup on a Jon boat just to make sure he was the loudest on the lake.

One of his sweetest qualities was his love for dancing with his mom — a tradition that began when she first taught him to two-step as a little boy. No matter where they were or who was watching, if music played, Haze would take her hand and dance.
